About the Chairman - Dr. Marco Ho
Dr Marco Ho is a Consultant of Department of Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital in charge of the paediatrics allergy service and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of The University of Hong Kong. Dr Ho is a specialist pediatrician in Alleger and Immunology, he received subspecialty training of Clinical Immunology in 2001 and started a Paediatric Allergy and Immunotherapy Clinic. In 2016, Dr Ho completed his MD thesis titled Clinical Care of Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis in Children and he was awarded Sir Patrick Mansion Gold Medal for the best MD thesis of the year. Dr Ho was the Founding Council Member of Hong Kong Paediatric Society for Immunology and Infectious Disease and currently serve as Vice President. He is the council member and the President of Hong Kong Institute of Allergy. He is one of the Founders and immediate-past-chairman of Hong Kong Allergy Association. In the research field, Dr Ho have authored and co- authored over 80 peer reviewed articles in immunodeficiency, clinical immunology, food allergy and general paediatrics.
About the Speaker - Dr. Alson Chan
Dr. Alson Chan is a First Fellow in the sub-specialty of Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases, and currently the specialist in Allergy Centre of Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. He also serves as the advisor of Hong Kong Allergy Association; the chairman of education, training & fellowship committee and council member of Hong Kong Institute of Allergy; the chairman of education committee and executive committee of the Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong; council member of Hong Kong Society for Paediatric Immunology Allergy & Infectious Diseases; organizing committee of Hong Kong Allergy Convention; and allergy & clinical immunology committee of Chinese Hospital Research Association. Dr Chan received medical fellowship awards and completed his subspecialty training in Great Ormond Street Hospital of UCL Institute of Child Health and Boston Children’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. His main research interests are allergy prevention and immunotherapy. He is the corresponding author of the Guidelines for Allergy Prevention in Hong Kong, and the co-author of the Guidelines for Prevention of Peanut Allergy.
About the Speaker - Associate Professor John Sinn
Associate Professor John Sinn is a Neonatologist and Infant allergist at Royal North Shore Hospital and University of Sydney. He is on the policy committees for Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand and Royal Australian College of Physician. He chairs TPN and nutrition committees for Australia. He is on the task force for infant allergy of European Academy of Allergy and clinical Immunology. He has published extensively including Cochrane reviews on allergy prevention, infant nutrition, probiotics and immunization. He has authored more than 60 publications with 3000 citation including many position papers around the world. He has been an invited professor to many countries including Malaysia, Thailand, China, South Africa, Vietnam, Taiwan, Germany, France, Italy, Hong Kong and UK.
